Free Throws The Difference As OSU Falls To Colorado State, 83-78

- John Sivesind and Ceedric Goodwyn each scored 23 points and Aki Palmer added 18 as Colorado State beat Oregon State 83-78 on Saturday night.Sivesind entered the game having scored just 13 points in four games. He matched that total by halftime and finished with five three-point goals. Goodwyn also added 23 points, matching his season total.
Palmer, a first time starter, earned 18 points for the Rams. He connected on three three-pointers and was 9 of 11 at the free-throw line.
The teams traded leads throughout the first half and Oregon State (4-2) led 35-34 at halftime.
Colorado State (2-3) pulled ahead for good with 9:46 to play on Sivesind's two free throws. The Rams led by as many as eight, 74-66, with 1:10 to play.
But Oregon State made a late push, closing within three on nine points in the final 36 seconds by Deaundra Tanner. He finished with 23 points, 16 in the second half.
Colorado State was shooting .415 on the game to Oregon State's .500. But the Rams hit 28 of 34 free throws while Oregon State was just 5 of 7 at the free-throw line.
