OSU Falls To No. 10 Southern California

CORVALLIS, Ore. - Oregon State saw 10th-ranked Southern California strike for two goals in the first 26 minutes Sunday afternoon and the Trojans went on to a 3-0 win in Pacific-10 women's soccer at Lorenz Field at Valley Stadium. OSU (8-9-1 overall, 1-6-0 Pacific-10) had four seniors playing their final home game: Coray Calhoun, Sunny Miller, Coral Slater and Beth Thomason.
Isabelle Harvey had a goal and an assist for USC (14-4-0, 7-1-0), giving Harvey the school record for career goals with 40. The Trojans also set a school record by recording their ninth shutout of the season.
Oregon State managed a 10-10 draw with Southern California in shots, but the Beavers were unable to find the back of the net. OSU had a pair of opportunities just miss in the 46th minute when a Slater shot went off the post and Miller's follow was wide.
USC opened the scoring in the 17th minute as Andrea Warner took a cross from Kaylee Whitfield on the left side and shot inside the far post. The Trojans made it 2-0 in the 26th minute when Harvey's pass to the right caught OSU goalkeeper Elizabeth Pease away from the net and Kim Clark scored.
Southern California's final goal came on a penalty kick by Harvey in the 83rd minute.
The Beavers will finish their season next weekend with a game at Arizona on Friday at 6 p.m. and a contest at Arizona State on Sunday at 11 a.m. USC concludes its regular-season schedule at UCLA on Sunday at 10:30 a.m.
