Former Oregon State University student-athlete Kyle Bjornstad was promoted to Associate Athletic Director/Chief of Staff in September of 2017. He was originally appointed as the department’s Chief of Staff in November of 2015.

Bjornstad began his professional career in intercollegiate athletics as the Assistant Director of Annual Giving/Varsity OSU Director for Our Beaver Nation, the fundraising arm for OSU Athletics, for four years. Prior to working for Our Beaver Nation, Bjornstad held positions as a regional media consultant and sales representative for national advertising firms.

As a member of the Beavers’ executive leadership team, Bjornstad assists with various functions, including departmental strategic planning, policy recommendations, compliance, scheduling, contracts and Pac-12 Conference and NCAA committee assignments. He also manages programming for administrators, coaches and student-athletes.

Bjornstad was a member of OSU’s men’s basketball team from 2006-09 following two years at Northwest Christian University. He helped the Beavers capture the College Basketball Invitational title his senior year. He is a 2009 graduate of OSU with a bachelor’s degree in speech communication and earned his master’s degree in athletic administration from Concordia University Irvine in 2019. The Eugene, Ore., native graduated from Marist High School.

Bjornstad is married to former Beaver gymnast Mandi Rodriguez and they have two children, Alegra and Archer.
