Steve Gaul began his career at OSU in 2012, working as an assistant athletic trainer with the football team. He has been the lead athletic trainer for football since 2017. Currently, Gaul oversees the football assistant athletic trainers and students within the athletic training program. Throughout the fall, he also coordinates physical therapy residents who assist with practice coverage and daily rehabilitation.
Before arriving at Oregon State, Gaul completed a year-long internship with the Tampa Bay Buccaneers. He previously completed two years as a graduate assistant with Ohio State football while earning a master of science in Allied Health Management. Gaul is also a graduate of the University of Pittsburgh, where he earned a Bachelor of Science in athletic training and worked a year-long clinical rotation with the Pittsburgh Steelers.
Gaul, a native of St. Mary's, Pennsylvania, currently resides in Albany with his wife, Caitlyn, and two boys, Jimmy and Holden.
