Dr. Donald Pennington

- Orthopedic Surgeon
Dr. Pennington is the Head Orthopedic Surgeon for Oregon State University. His practice primarily involves the evaluation, diagnosis and surgery of sports medicine injuries.
He specializes in minimally invasive treatment of the shoulder and knee called arthroscopic surgery. Through small poke holes he performs complete arthroscopic ligament, tendon, labrum and cartilage repair. His special interests are in cartilage restoration and repair techniques including Carticel and DeNovo. He also utilizes Platelet-Rich-Plasma (PRP) for faster healing and quicker recovery.
Dr. Pennington is Board Certified in Orthopedic Surgery and received additional fellowship training in Sports Medicine surgery. His past experience includes positions as team orthopedist for the Colorado Rockies, Chicago White Sox, and University of Arizona. He founded Samaritan Orthopedics and Sports Medicine Center and now with his four partners offers comprehensive orthopedic care.
Dr. Pennington serves as a master instructor in arthroscopic shoulder and knee surgery for the American Academy of Orthopedic Surgeons, Arthroscopic Association of North America, and trains other orthopedic surgeons in arthroscopic surgery.
Dr. Pennington enjoys the support of his wife and three boys. He also enjoys golf, mountain biking and car restoration.
