Kristen Carmichael is in her first year as a student assistant coach with the Oregon State women's soccer program.
Carmichael played in 17 matches as a freshman and seven as a sophomore before suffering a season-ending knee injury against Denver. She had an assist as a freshman against Washington State. She was selected to the 2009 Pac-10 All-Academic honorable mention team.
The Upland, Calif., native graduated from Upland High School in 2008 where she played four years on the varsity soccer team and was named the defensive most valuable player following her senior season. The team was the Baseline League champions for three years and the CIF Champions in 2006. She was a member of the Principal's Honor Roll all four years.
Carmichael also played for the OJSC Barcelona Club team for two years, the Claremont Stars Club team for two years and the Cal South Olympic Development Program for two years.
