Schulberg originally arrived at Oregon State in the fall of 2010 but was forced to retire of gymnastics the next fall following a series of knee injuries.
Prior to her arrival at Oregon State, Schulberg was a 2009 Junior Olympic National Team member after finishing second in the all-around at the 2009 J.O. National Championships. She also finished second on the uneven bars and fourth on vault at the meet as a junior.

Several weeks later, she suffered a season-ending knee injury for the second year in a row eventually leading to the decision to retire from competition.
