During his first three seasons with the Beavers, Zinkhan helped guide Oregon State to a pair of NCAA Tournament appearances. The 2020 season (played in the spring of 2021 due to COVID-19) saw the Beavers make the NCAA Tournament for the fifth time in program history, as the team went 9-5. Gloire Amanda won the MAC Hermann Trophy as the best men's player in collegiate soccer.
During his first year on the staff, Zinkhan helped lead the Beavers' to arguably the most successful season in program history. Oregon State went 11-6-3 on the year, and made the NCAA Tournament for the fourth time in program history. The Beavers earned the second NCAA Tournament win in program history, topping SMU at Lorenz Field, and finished second in the Pac-12.
Under his guidance, Sofiane Djeffal was honored as Pac-12 Freshman of the Year, while Don Tchilao made the all-conference first team.
Zinkhan arrived at OSU after spending a year as an assistant women's soccer coach at the University of Mary Washington in Virginia. In addition, he has held different roles at the Fredericksburg Football Club in Virginia since January of 2015, including director of coaching for boys.
 Â
Zinkhan is a 2014 graduate of Virginia with a bachelor's degree in foreign affairs with a minor in history. In addition to the 2014 national championship season, he helped UVA to the NCAA Final Four in 2013. He played in 78 career games for the Cavaliers.
