- Title:
- Director of Recruiting
- Phone:
- 737-2614
Michael Doctor will join the Oregon State football program as Director of Recruiting, Head Coach JaMarcus Shephard has announced.
Â
"It's super important to me that alumni come back to Corvallis and are given the opportunity to give back to the program that gave to them, and that's the reason why having Michael Doctor a part of this program is so important," Shephard said. "He has the best knowledge and understanding of all the fine parts of the program that allow it to run at an elite level. But he also has tremendous relationships that have been on display for years prior to now. Please welcome back Oregon State's very own, Michael Doctor."
Â
Doctor, a four-year letterwinner for Oregon State from 2010-14, served as a recruiting assistant for the Beavers before being promoted to Director of On Campus Recruiting in 2019. He was then promoted to the team's Director of Recruiting in 2021.
Â
"It is an honor to be back at my alma mater," Doctor said. "Oregon State holds a special place in my heart, and I am excited to help mold the next generation of Beavers."
Â
The appointment is contingent on the completion of all university hiring processes.
Â
Doctor spent the 2024 and 2025 seasons at Michigan State University as the director of recruiting and player relations.
Â
A native of Tulsa, Okla., Doctor started 38 games for Oregon State, totaling 238 tackles, which ranks just shy of 10th in the program's record books. He added 22.5 tackles for loss, also just outside the Top 10.
Â
He ended his Oregon State career with 69 tackles in 2014, his redshirt senior season. Doctor was a preseason watch list selection for the Lott IMPACT Trophy, which is given annually to college football's best defensive player in performance and character.
Â
In one of his last games with the Beavers, Doctor intercepted an Arizona State pass late in the fourth quarter, returning it for a 35-yard touchdown in a 35-27 upset over the No. 8 Sun Devils.
Â
He graduated from Oregon State in 2014 with a degree in human development and family science and a minor in sociology.
Â
Doctor and his wife, Madison, have a son and two daughters.
