2012: Michael is a versatile offensive lineman who has practiced at center and both guard spots ... will be expected to provide depth along the interior of the line this season. 2011: Played one game, the season opener vs. Sacramento State ... came in against the Hornets, along with Derek Nielsen, when both starting guards went out with cramps and provided the block to get running back Malcolm Agnew into the end zone in the fourth quarter. 2010: Participated in his first spring practice after enrolling at OSU during spring term of 2010 ... redshirt.
DALLAS: Three-year varsity letterman ... played offensive tackle and defensive tackle for the Dragons ... twice earned All-Mid-Willamette Conference first team at offensive tackle ... earned first team all-conference at defensive tackle once ... earned second team honors on offense once ... two-year winner of Dallas' Most Outstanding Lineman award ... rated the sixth-best prospect in the state of Oregon overall and 82nd nationally at offensive guard by Rivals.com ... first team All-Willamette Valley Conference on both lines ... honorable mention all-state on both sides of the ball as a senior ... first team all-league on both sides as a junior ... invited to play in the Les Schwab Bowl ... earned two varsity letters in track and field.
PERSONAL: Born September 6, 1990 in Dallas, Oregon ... son of Shawn and Tina Beaton ... has one sister and three brothers ... sister, Melissa Rivers, is an OSU graduate ... is interested in theater and HiQ ... participated in OSU's Spring Act Festival May 25-29, 2011 and had a leading role in the play "Behind Bars" by Jordyn Patton - a drama taking place in a prison where Jay, a young inmate, is taught how to survive by his cellmate, Cody (played by Beaton) ... in March 2012, participated in production of OSU Theatre's, "The Sugar Wife" playing one of the leads as Alfred Darby ... lists his biggest athletic thrill as "winning against Pendleton in the state playoffs as a sophomore" ... chose Oregon State because of "the great community, it's close to home, the great football program and OSU has the best food in the world - other than my mom's" ... studying theater arts.
