OREGON STATE – 2013: After spending the 2012 season at cornerback, Jovan (pronounced JOE-von) moved back to running back late in fall camp due to injuries … received one carry for one yard against Hawai’i … returned two kicks during the season with a season-long of 27 yards against Eastern Washington … suspended one half by the Pac-12 following a targeting foul against Hawai’i … played in six games primarily as a kick returner. 2012: Made the move from running back to cornerback prior to fall camp … made two tackles. 2011: Played in nine games, starting two – Arizona State and BYU … had a career day rushing with 17 carries for 99 yards and a touchdown in a win over Arizona … scored three fourth quarter touchdowns in a win over Washington … turned a blown coverage into a 58-yard touchdown reception in the Civil War at Oregon … tied for the team lead with five touchdown rushes … sprained his left knee against BYU and missed the next three games (Washington State, Utah and Stanford). 2010: Jovan suffered a shoulder injury in August that forced him to have surgery – redshirted. 2009: Primary backup for most of the season as Ryan McCants was returning from injury … played in 11 games, rushing for 137 yards … scored his first career touchdown against Washington State … one of eight true freshman to play … participated in his first spring practice after enrolling at OSU during winter term of 2009.
SUNNYSIDE: Played running back, defensive back and wide receiver during his career … two-time all-state, including first team All-Southern Arizona in 2007 … rushed for 1,470 yards and 17 touchdowns as a senior, 1,863 yards and 14 touchdowns as a junior … part of the 2006 state champion 4x100 relay team.
