David Lose, a former teammate of head coach Jonathan Smith, is in his fourth year as a defensive quality control analyst.Â
Lose was an 18-game starter and three-year letterman offensive guard for the Beavers from 1999-2003. He was part of OSU’s co-Pac-12 title Fiesta Bowl championship team and was a key blocker for Beaver running back greats Ken Simonton and Steven Jackson, and record-setting and NFL veteran quarterback Derek Anderson. Lose, who spent five seasons in Arena Football League-2, served as Portland State’s defensive line coach prior to joining the Beavers staff. He served a six-year tenure in different capacities with Washington State’s defense to begin his coaching career.
