Avery Roberts is in his first season as a defensive graduate assistant coach for the Beavers. An Oregon State standout, he played in 29 games over three seasons for the Beavers.
Roberts, who hails from Wilmington, Del., made 280 tackles with 19 tackles for loss and five sacks during his career in the orange and black. In 2021, he was named a Third-Team All-American by Phil Steele after recording a Pac-12-best 128 tackles, the fifth-most in a single-season at OSU. Roberts was also named an All-Pac-12 First-Team selection in 2020 and 2021.
Roberts also led the Pac-12 with 69 tackles during the Covid-19 shortened 2020 season, and recorded 21 in a game against Utah, the third-most ever by a Beaver.
The linebacker transferred to Oregon State during the 2018 season after playing in 11 games at Nebraska as a true freshman in 2017.
