Former Oregon State infielder Richie Mascareñas is in his second season as an undergraduate assistant coach with the Beavers.
He appeared in eight games for the Beavers in 2020, and missed the entire 2021 season due to injury. Mascareñas totaled two hits with one RBI during the Covid-19 shortened 2020 season.
He came to Oregon State from Linn-Benton Community College, where he batted .338 as a sophomore, totaling nine doubles with 29 RBI and eight stolen bases. That earned him All-Region and All-League honors. He was an All-Region First-Team selection as a freshman after batting .326 with eight doubles, 24 RBI and 10 stolen bases.
A native of Las Vegas, he was a four-year letterwinner at Durango High School, earning All-State and All-Southern Nevada during his career.
