OSU Trio Honored Again

CORVALLIS, Ore. – KJ Harrison and Drew Rasmussen are consensus Freshman All-Americans and Mitch Hickey earned his third such honor when Perfect Game released its teams on Wednesday. Harrison and Rasmussen are both first teamers, while Hickey is a second teamer.
Harrison has now been named to the first team by Perfect Game, Louisville Slugger, Baseball America, D1Baseball.com and the National Collegiate Baseball Writers Association (NCBWA). Rasmussen has been named to the first team by Perfect Game, Louisville Slugger, D1Baseball.com and NCBWA and to the second team by Baseball America. Hickey, meanwhile, was previously named to the first team by Louisville Slugger and second team by the NCBWA.
Harrison was named the Pac-12’s Freshman of the Year and a First-Team All-League honoree two weeks ago. He ended the season with a .309 average, 12 doubles, three triples, 10 home runs and a league-leading 60 runs batted in.
Rasmussen, meanwhile, was named an all-league first team selection. The Spokane, Wash., native went 7-4 this past season with a 2.80 earned run average. He struck out 82 and held opponents to a .223 average in 106 innings.
Hickey went 4-1 with a 2.28 ERA in 27 appearances, and his 11 saves ranks sixth on Oregon State’s single-season record book. He held opponents to a .204 average in 27 2/3 innings.
