Harrison & Rasmussen Add To Honors

CORVALLS, Ore. – Infielder KJ Harrison and pitcher Drew Rasmussen added to their collection of postseason honors on Monday. Harrison was named a First-Team Freshman All-American by Baseball America, while Rasmussen was named to the publication’s second team.
The honors pile up for the duo, who have also been named Freshman All-Americans by Louisville Slugger/Collegiate Baseball and the National Collegiate Baseball Writers Association (NCBWA).
Harrison was named the Pac-12’s Freshman of the Year and a First-Team All-League honoree. He ended the season with a .309 average, 12 doubles, three triples, 10 home runs and a league-leading 60 runs batted in.
He joined Michael Conforto (2012) and Dylan Davis (2013, 2014) as Beavers to lead the league in RBI over the past four seasons.
Rasmussen, meanwhile, was named an all-league first team selection. The Spokane, Wash., native went 7-4 this past season with a 2.80 earned run average. He struck out 82 and held opponents to a .223 average in 106 innings.
Harrison and Rasmussen represent two of three honorees from the Pac-12 Conference. Harrison is the lone Pac-12 player on the first team.
Both are currently competing for the USA Baseball Collegiate National Team in North Carolina.
