Beavers Host WSU and UCLA Saturday at Dexter

CORVALLIS, Ore. – The Oregon State women’s rowing team hosts Pac-12 rivals Washington State and UCLA Saturday morning at Dexter Lake in Lowell, Ore.
All three teams are ranked in this week’s CRCA/USRowing Coaches Poll with the Cougars ranked No. 7, the Bruins at No. 17 and the Beavers at No. 18.
The Beavers are slated to race five boats, the Varsity 8, Second Varsity 8, Varsity 4+, Third Varsity 8 and Second Varsity 4+.
Eight OSU rowers will race on their home course for the final time Saturday including Saasha Bruce, Breanna Burns, Katie Low, Hailey Page, Julie Stark, Lauren Still, Anna Taylor and Emily Wright.

QUOTING HEAD COACH EMILY FORD: “This is a good opportunity to see a couple Pac-12 teams before we meet at Pac-12 Championships. These races will have implications on lane selections (at Pac-12 Championships) which could be a big deal.”
“With all seven schools (in the conference) ranked in the top 18 we’ll see a lot of fast racing.”
LAST YEAR’S DUAL AGAINST WASHINGTON STATE: The Varsity 8’s for OSU and WSU ended in a tie with both boats crossing the finish line in 7:18.88 at Wawawai Landing near Pullman, Wash. The Beavers’ Novice 8 raced to victory while three other OSU crews came up short.
GETTING TO DEXTER LAKE: From I-5 North or South: Take Exit 188A Highway 58/Willamette Hwy – towards Oakridge – Follow Highway 58 east for approximately 13.5 miles – Left at Jasper-Lowell Rd (covered bridge is on the left-hand side right before the turn) – Follow Jasper-Lowell Rd. for 0.7 miles – Left on North Shore Dr. – North Shore Dr. turns into Pengra Rd. – Lowell Recreation Site is located 0.7 miles from turn on the left-hand side.
