Last Game
Christian Donahue went 3-for-3 and Luke Heimlich tossed four scoreless innings in relief to help send the Beavers to a 9-6 win over USC Sunday at Goss Stadium. Donahue also drove in two runs, as did Jeff Hendrix and Dane Lund.
Fighting For A Winning Month
Oregon State comes into Thursday’s game with a 6-6 record in the month of April. As Thursday is the last day of April, a Beavers win would secure the team’s 15th consecutive winning month in the regular season. The Beavers last had a losing record in a single month in May of 2011 when going 6-9.
Moore On The Road
Andrew Moore has been dominant on opponents’ turf this season. He has yet to allow an earned run in 22 1/3 innings in true road contests, scattering just 13 hits with 18 strikeouts to just three walks.
Another Note On Moore
His march in innings pitched has gone to the wayside but it certainly deserves recognition. He has thrown 308 2/3 innings in his career, which now stands at seventh in the OSU record books. Next up is Scott Anderson, who stands at No. 6 with 325 2/3 innings from 1981-84.
Hendrix Slowly Climbing
Jeff Hendrix is on a seven-game hit streak coming into the series, and is beginning to make a move for his team-long 12-gamer earlier this season. He is 11-for-21 (.524) with six runs batted in during his current streak.
Singles
• Oregon State’s catchers have combined to commit just two errors this season in 318 chances. That’s a .994 fielding percentage. They’ve also been charged with just two passed balls.
• The trio of Logan Ice, Dane Lund and KJ Harrison have also combined to throw out 19-of-39 (48.7 percent) of basestealers.
• OSU sent three freshmen relievers - Luke Heimlich, Sam Tweedt and Mitch Hickey - to the mound in Sunday’s win. They combined to allow two runs with two walks and six strikeouts in 6 2/3 innings.
• The Beavers’ 232 all-time wins against UW are OSU’s most against opponent.
• OSU is 5-6 in televised games in 2015; 11 games remain on TV.
