Scott Turner Added to the Coaching Staff

Corvallis, Ore. - Scott Turner has joined the Oregon State University football staff as a graduate assistant coach, head coach Mike Riley announced Monday. Turner will serve in an administrative role, and joins fellow graduate assistant coaches Kanani Souza (offense) and Keith Heyward-Johnson (defense). All three are in their first year as coaches at OSU.
Turner is a 2005 graduate of the University of Nevada-Las Vegas with a degree in psychology. He played quarterback during the 2003 and 2004 seasons, mainly as a backup, but he was a key figure in rallying the Rebels to a 37-35 2003 victory over bowl bound New Mexico. Turner also played on special teams in 2002 and redshirted in 2001.
"Scott has a great background in football and comes from a terrific football family," Riley said. "He is a great addition to our coaching staff."
Scott's father is Norv Turner, head coach of the Oakland Raiders. Scott attended Oakton High School in Vienna, Virginia.
