GAME: Spring Game to conclude spring drills

ADMISSION CHARGE: Oregon State, for the first time, will charge admission to attend the Spring Game, with all proceeds to benefit the OSU Faculty Emergency Fund for Students. The OSU Faculty Senate approved the creation of an emergency fund that will help students offset a surcharge required by the university to help fill a budget gap created by recent reductions in state appropriations. Admission is free to OSU students with OSU ID and for children 12 years and under. Tickets can by purchased in advance for $3.00 at the OSU Athletic Ticket Office in Gill Coliseum (107). All tickets will be priced at $5.00 apiece at Reser Stadium on game day, April 26. Reser Stadium ticket booths will open at 9:00 a.m. on Saturday.
LIVE VIDEO: The Spring Game will be broadcast live (video and audio) over the OSU website, osubeavers.com with Scott Lynn and Steve Preece announcing.
BEAVER FUN RUN: There will be a Beaver Fun Run associated with the Spring Game. The Fun Run will start at 9:00 a.m. and will begin from the Truax Indoor Center and end at Reser Stadium. Fan Fair at Reser Stadium will start at 10:00 a.m. Anyone wishing to participate in either the 5K or 10K run/walk should contact the OSU Marketing Office at 737-4638. There will also be a kid's 1,000-meter run.
HALL OF FAME BANQUET: Oregon State will be inducting four new members into its Athletic Hall of Fame on Friday night at the Valley Football Center. New inductees include former football All-American Steve Coury, All-America wrestler Les Gutches and two former members of the OSU crew team, Amy Martin and Tom Woodman. The banquet is open to the public and tickets are priced at $40.00 and Wednesday is the deadline for ordering tickets through the OSU BASF Office (737-2370). The reception starts at 5:30 p.m., dinner at 6:30 and the induction ceremony at 8:00 p.m.
SPRING GAME FORMAT: Coach Mike Riley indicates he will not divide up his squad into separate teams. Instead, Riley intends to run the Spring Game like a scrimmage. It will be offense vs. defense. There will be the normal 15-minute quarters.
INJURIES: Four players have been ruled out of participating in the Spring Game. Out-Dan Haines, TE, recovering from left knee surgery; Mitch Meeuwsen, FS, recovering from right knee surgery; Chris Scott, DT, right knee sprain; Jason Lowe, SLB, left knee MCL sprain.
