PERSONAL—Born 12/11/82 in Orlando, FL…son of Clinton and Roneice Scott...his father works in construction and his mother is a nurse…he has an older brother, Clinton Jr., 23, and an older sister, Sophia, 21…he is in the College of Business and is a business administration major...he entered OSU with a 3.2 GPA…hobbies include track, web design and chemistry…winning the district shot put championship was his top prep athletic thrill...selected OSU because, “I enjoyed my visit and I liked the atmosphere and coaching staff.”
OSU—(2003—Sophomore)—Chris played behind four veterans at defensive tackle in 2002 and failed to earn a letter after playing in only one game...Chris worked hard during spring drills to improve his status and his work paid off as he completed spring drills as the No. 2 defensive right tackle behind Dwan Edwards...Chris has increased his strength dramatically since arriving at OSU and he has earned the opportunity for more playing time in 2003...Chris has posted career weightlifting bests of 550 in the back squat, 405 in the bench press, 297.6 in the power clean and 380.3 in the push press...he has a 28.5 vertical jump best and runs the 40 in 5.0.
(2002—Freshman Redshirt)—Chris played in one game during the 2002 season, that against UNLV...he failed to letter...he reported to spring drills listed No. 3 on the depth chart at defensive right tackle behind junior Dwan Edwards and senior James Lee...Chris remained No. 3 at right tackle on the depth chart at the conclusion of spring drills...he is in the natural progression up the depth chart...during winter conditioning, Chris posted weightlifting bests of 435 in the back squat, 390 in the bench press, 276 in the power clean and 364 in the push press...his top vertical jump mark was 25 inches.
(2001—Freshman)—Chris spent the 2001 season as a redshirt defensive lineman and participated on the defensive scout squat during the season.
EDGEWATER HIGH SCHOOL, Orlando, FL—Chris was a four-year letterman and three-year starter as a defensive end for Edgewater…ran the 40 in 4.9 in high school…also earned four letters in track and field while competing in the shot put and discus…he had 14 sacks as a senior on an 8-3 team under Coach Bill Gierke…he was first-team All-Central Florida, an all-county pick and an honorable mention all-state selection as a senior in Division 6A in Florida, the largest classification in the state…he was named the Defensive Player of the Year for Edgewater…according to Gierke, he was heavily recruited in the state and turned down offers to Georgia and South Carolina…“He had a great senior year on defense for us and he is a solid Division 1 prospect.”…several of Gierke’s prep athletes played for Dennis Erickson’s Miami teams, including
