Four former Beaver Sign Free Agent Contracts with NFL Clubs

Four former Oregon State University football players have signed free agent contracts with NFL clubs, as of mid-day Tuesday.
Four-year letterman tight end Marty Maurer will rejoin his old coach, Mike Riley, with the San Diego Chargers. Maurer caught 36 passes for 465 yards and one touchdown last season. The Jacksonville, Ore., native was an honorable mention All-Pac-10 Conference selection last year. For his career, Maurer caught 73 passes for 985 yards and four touchdowns.
Strong safety Terrence Carroll, also a four-year letterman, has signed with the Philadelphia Eagles. Carroll was a second team All-Pac-10 pick last season after making 65 tackles and four interceptions. For his career, Carroll had 255 tackles and nine interceptions.
Two-year letterman defensive end LaDairis Jackson inked with the Seattle Seahawks. Jackson, who came to OSU from El Camino College, had 46 tackles in 2000. He led the team with a school record 11.5 sacks and a team-high 21 tackles-for-loss. The honorable mention All-Pac-10 selection concluded his OSU career with 80 tackles, including 27-for-losses.
Linebacker Darnell Robinson, the defensive MVP of the Tostitos Fiesta Bowl, signed with the Detroit Lions. The second team All-Pac-10 selection had a team-high 80 tackles last season. He concluded his career 175 tackles, including 22-for-losses. Robinson lettered four years.
