EUGENE, Ore. – Oregon State volleyball fell in three sets to the No. 23 Oregon Ducks on Sunday inside Matthew Knight Arena.

AC Froehlich and Taylor Treahy led the team with eight kills apiece, Froehlich adding seven digs and a block and Treahy contributing four digs. Taray Tela hit .667 on her way to six kills and two blocks – including an emphatic slam early in the third – and also contributed a pair of blocks.

Isabel Bertelsen made it four-consecutive matches and six of her last seven with double-digit digs, leading the team with 10, while Jackie Matias provided 24 assists and seven digs.

After the Ducks took set one, both teams battled early and often in set two. A pair of early kills by Treahy brought the matchup within two points as the Beavers quickly leveled at seven thanks to a 3-0 run. Both teams traded points until Oregon State took a 14-13 lead on a Froehlich and Tela block, but UO responded with runs of 4-0 and 7-0 to win the set.

Froehlich tallied four kills and Tela chipped in three during the third, but the Ducks took the set and match.

Beaver volleyball returns home to open Pac-12 play against Washington State next Saturday at 1 p.m.
