Ex-Beaver Trevor Larnach Savors Field of Dreams Experience with Twins

DYERSVILLE, Iowa — Former Oregon State star Trevor Larnach got to do something Thursday that most big leaguers never do: play a game in the middle of a cornfield.
The Twins left fielder was part of the third MLB at Field of Dreams Game, and even with a career that includes a national championship and an All-America season at Oregon State, he said this one was something else.
"When you're on the field, you start playing ball again, it's kind of like comfort zone in a way," Larnach said, via MLB.com. "I've been doing this every day since Spring Training on. But the different setting was cool. It was just a cool atmosphere. The amount of people that showed up, and the way it was put together, all around it was such an experience. I'll never forget it."
The Twins fell to the Phillies, 7-1, and the outfielder went 2-for-5 while batting in the leadoff spot for Minnesota. He singled in the first and third innings, struck out in the fifth, flew out to center in the seventh and lined into a double play in the ninth.
As for Larnach's season, he's been rolling. Through 101 games he's hitting .272 with 19 doubles, 10 home runs, 42 RBI and a .788 OPS, making him one of the more reliable bats in Minnesota's lineup as the Twins push for a playoff spot.
Larnach and the Twins stand in third in the AL Central, and are one game out of the wild card race.
