July 12, 2026 | Baseball
CORVALLIS, Ore. – Oregon State right-handed pitcher Albert Roblez has been selected in the 16th round, 485th overall, by the San Diego Padres Sunday in the 2026 MLB First-Year Player Draft.
Â
Roblez spent three seasons at the NCAA Division I level, pitching for UNLV and Long Beach State before coming to Corvallis. He finished his collegiate career with an 8-6 record and 3.67 earned run average in 56 appearances, seven of which were starts. He posted 18 saves, with 14 coming during his lone season as a Beaver.
Â
Roblez held opponents to a .173 average in 2026 en route to multiple All-American nods. He sported a 1.50 ERA and 2-1 record over 24 games, all of which were in relief.
Â
Roblez is the fifth Oregon State pitcher in this season's draft, the most for the Beavers since OSU had six taken in 2010.
Â
Roblez is the eighth Beaver taken by San Diego all-time, and the first since Tyler Malone in 2019.
