Ethan Kleinschmit Selected By Miami In MLB Draft

CORVALLIS, Ore. – Oregon State left-handed pitcher Ethan Kleinschmit has been selected in the second round, 52nd overall, by the Miami Marlins Saturday in the 2026 MLB First-Year Player Draft.

Kleinschmit's pitched two seasons for Oregon State since transferring from Linn-Benton Community College. He is 17-7 over 32 career appearances – all starts – and sports a 3.64 earned run average. The lefty has 210 strikeouts in 168 innings while holding opponents to a .207 batting average.

Kleinschmit, from Mt. Angel, Ore., was an All-American after a sophomore season that saw him go 8-5 with a 3.56 ERA, helping the Beavers to the Men's College World Series.

He is the 10th Beaver taken by Miami, and the fifth since 2024, joining Aiden May and Micah McDowell in 2024 and Aiva Arquette and Wilson Weber in 2025.
