Jacob Galloway Named Buster Posey Award Semifinalist

CORVALLIS, Ore. — Oregon State senior Jacob Galloway is one of 16 semifinalists for the Buster Posey Award as announced by the Wichita Sports Commission on Monday.
The Buster Posey Award, named for the former Major League backstop, is given annually to the nation's top catcher. Galloway is aiming to become the second Beaver to win the award, following Adley Rutschman in 2019.
Galloway has played in 54 of the Beavers' 55 games this season, batting .298, totaling 16 doubles with one home run and 27 runs batted in. He has drawn 24 walks while striking out just 11 times.
Defensively, the Camarillo, Calif., native has a .995 fielding percentage, committing just three errors in more than 600 chances. He has thrown out 13 runners in 37 steal attempts.
