Oregon State Scores Seven Straight To Win Fourth Consecutive

CORVALLIS, Ore. – Jacob Galloway reached base five times and drove in three runs, Jacob Krieg homered and Josh Proctor came up with another big double to pace 18th-ranked Oregon State to a 7-2 win over Xavier Saturday at Goss Stadium at Coleman Field.
The win, the team's largest of the season, marked Oregon State's fourth straight and pushed the Beavers to a 9-4 record on the year. Xavier, meanwhile, dropped to 5-9.
The Musketeers scored first on a second-inning two-run single but that lead didn't last long. OSU plated its first run of the game when Galloway singled in the third, which was then followed by Proctor's fourth double of the season. That scored two runs and put the Beavers up for good.
Bryce Hubbard and and Xavier's third error of the day gave the Beavers a 4-2 lead after three. OSU extended it to 5-2 when Krieg hit his second home run of the season in the sixth. Galloway, who finished with a walk, two hits and two hit by pitches, drove in his second and third runs of the game in the eighth on a single, giving Oregon State the five-run advantage.
Ethan Kleinschmit started and and worked five innings, scattering four hits and two runs with three walks and three strikeouts. He got the win, improving to 1-2. He was backed by Noah Scott and Isaac Yeager, who combined for four scoreless frames, striking out four.
Jack Nobe started for Xavier, allowing seven hits and five runs. He took the loss, dropping to 1-1.
Paul Vazquez also had two hits for the Beavers, as OSU tallied nine as a team.
The teams continue the three-game series Sunday with a 3:05 p.m. PT first pitch at Goss Stadium at Coleman Field.
