CORVALLIS, Ore. – Oregon State quarterback Braden Atkinson has been named the Pac-12 Conference's Offensive Player of the Week and Jesse Legree has been selected Freshman of Week for the fifth straight time, it was announced on Monday.
Atkinson claims the honor for the second time this season and it comes after her threw for 427 yards and five touchdowns in the Beavers' 56-26 win over Colorado State. It was OSU's largest win away from home since 2013 against California.
Atkinson found Legree three times and Eric Olsen twice to tie his season high for touchdown strikes. He leads the nation with 1,848 passing yards on the season and is second with 16 touchdown passes. He's thrown for two or more scores in four of the Beavers' five games this season.
Legree, meanwhile, has won every Freshman of the Week honor this season and ties Arizona's Noah Fifita (2023) for the most times recognized in one season.
His honor comes after he topped 100 yards for the fifth consecutive game, joining Mike Hass (2005) and Brandin Cooks (2013) for the longest streak by a Beaver. He totaled 156 yards with the aforementioned three scores to give him nine on the season, which is already tied for the seventh-most by a Beaver.
Legree is second in the nation with 741 receiving yards on the year.
Atkinson and Legree return to Reser Stadium Saturday as the Beavers host San Diego State at 3 p.m. PT. Visit BeaverTickets.com to grab seats for the matchup.
