Shuler Named USBWA National Player of the Week
January 26, 2026 | Women's Basketball
CORVALLIS, Ore. – Kennedie Shuler earned national honors on Tuesday morning when she was named a USBWA National Player of the Week.
Â
Shuler is one of the organization's five players of the week, joining Zoe Brooks (NC State), Cotie McMahon (Mississippi), Tristen Taylor (Temple) and Riley Weiss (Columbia).
Â
Shuler recorded 17 points, 10 steals, nine assists, five rebounds and three blocks to lead the Beavers past Gonzaga on Thursday. The junior had the fourth points-steals double-double in the WCC since 1999-00 and just the 11th in the nation this season.
Â
The performance was historic on the defensive end and cements Shuler's case as a contender for WCC Defensive Player of the Year and national All-Defense honors. She is one of four players in the nation to record 10 steals and three blocks in a game since 1999-00.
Â
Shuler joins Tiara Bolden and Jenna Villa as Beavs to win WCC Player of the Week this season. The trio is the first at Oregon State since Jamie Weisner, Sydney Wiese and Ruth Hamblin to win conference player of the week in the same season.
Â
The Beavers host San Diego (Thursday, 6 p.m.) and San Francisco (Saturday, 1 p.m.) for alumni weekend. OSU will honor its 2016 Final Four team during Saturday's game.
