Oregon State Battles South Dakota State to 1-1 Draw
September 07, 2025 | Women's Soccer
BROOKINGS, S.D. – Emily Ibsen scored her first goal of the season as Oregon State played South Dakota State to a 1-1 draw on Sunday.
Â
After SDSU scored early in the game, Ibsen struck early in the second half, heading in a corner kick from London Tsuma in the 48th minute for her first goal as a Beaver. The Parker, Colo., native joined the program this past offseason after spending three seasons at Adams State and is now up to 455 minutes played across six appearances (five starts).
Â
Ibsen was one of four Beavers to put a shot on frame against SDSU, joining Nathalie Lewis (two), Mia Erba (one), Adele Schwab (one) and Carly Carraher (one).
Â
For Tsuma, a Portland native, the assist was the latest in a strong start to her career. Just a freshman, Tsuma has seen her playing time increase in each of the last three-consecutive games, culminating in a season-high 56 against the Jackrabbits on Sunday that was punctuated with her first points at the collegiate level.
Â
Mya Sanchez made eight saves in net, stopping 88.9% of shots she faced and now holds a goals allowed average of 1.50 while making 29 saves across six appearances (six starts) in 2025.
Â
Beaver women's soccer returns to action on Sept. 14, traveling to Salt Lake City, Utah, to face the Utah Utes. Kickoff is scheduled for 12 p.m. PT.
