
Scott Barnes Receives Beaver Champion Award

CORVALLIS, Ore. – Oregon State Vice President and Director of Intercollegiate Athletics Scott Barnes received the Beaver Champion Award as part of the 2025 University Day.

The Beaver Champion is awarded by Oregon State President Jayathi Murthy to a person or team for outstanding effort and achievement of excellence, going beyond what is requested and performance of the highest quality that has yielded a university wide impact.

Under his leadership at Oregon State since December 2016, Barnes has spearheaded multi-million dollar facility renovations and has led significant strides academically and athletically for the university's student-athletes.

Barnes has also been a key leader in the recharged Pac-12 Conference, which has included the addition of new programs that will transition to the league in time for the 2026-27 athletics year.
