Hankerson Named Preseason Candidate For Doak Walker Award

CORVALLIS, Ore. – Oregon State's Anthony Hankerson was named a preseason candidate for the Doak Walker Award, presented by the PwC SMU Athletic Forum to the nation's most outstanding college running back.
The PwC SMU Athletic Forum Board of Directors will name ten semifinalists in November, and three finalists, as voted on by the Doak Walker Award National Selection Committee, will also be announced in November. The committee will cast a second vote in December to determine the recipient.
The recipient of the 2025 Doak Walker Award will be announced live on The Home Depot College Football Awards on December 12.
The award is named for SMU's three-time All-America running back Doak Walker. Each Tuesday of this season, The PwC SMU Athletic Forum will once again announce a Doak Walker National Running Back of the week.
Hankerson, a senior from Boynton Beach, Fla., is in his second year at Oregon State after a dominant 2024 campaign. He ran for the 19th 1,000-yard season by a Beaver, totaling 1,082 with 15 scores. Those 15 rushing touchdowns ranked sixth for a single season at Oregon State.
Hankerson posted five games of 100 or more yards and averaged 4.7 yards per rush. He also caught 27 passes for 151 yards.
