Drew Rasmussen Becomes Third Beaver All-Star This Season

CORVALLIS, Ore. – Former Oregon State right-handed pitcher Drew Rasmussen has been added as a reserve for Tuesday's All-Star Game. Rasmussen, a member of the Tampa Bay Rays, will play for the American League in Tuesday's game at Truist Park in Atlanta.
Rasmussen is 7-5 with a 2.82 earned run average in 18 games – all starts – for the Rays this season. He has struck out 76 batters in 89 innings en route to his first All-Star Game.
Rasmussen, who hails from Puyallup, Wash., is the third Beaver to make this year's All-Star squad, as Oregon State has the most players from any program. He joins left-handed pitcher Matthew Boyd from the Chicago Cubs and outfielder Steven Kwan with the Cleveland Guardians.
Rasmussen pitched in 33 games – 24 starts – for the Beavers from 2015-17. The righty went 14-5 with a 2.65 ERA, striking out 150 in 170 innings of work. He threw a perfect game as a freshman in 2015 against Washington State.
The 2025 MLB All-Star Game will be played Tuesday at 5 p.m. PT. The game will air live on FOX.
