Beavers Down Saint Mary’s, Advance To Corvallis Regional Final

CORVALLIS, Ore. – Oregon State is headed to its fifth consecutive NCAA Regional Final after defeating Saint Mary's, 20-3, in front of a Goss Stadium record 4,368 fans Sunday afternoon.
The Beavers scored nine runs on eight hits in the sixth after Saint Mary's (36-26) scored two in the bottom of the fifth. Oregon State (43-13-1) had scored the game's first five runs.
Tyce Peterson, Trent Caraway and Wilson Weber all went deep for the Beavers. Caraway, Peterson, Gavin Turley, Easton Talt and Arquette all had three hits for OSU, which racked up a season-best 21 in the win.
Peterson homered in the fourth and Caraway went deep in the fifth. Caraway has now homered in all three Corvallis Regional games. He also singled in a pair in the nine-run sixth.
Weber homered in the ninth, his 12th long ball of the season. OSU plated six runs in the frame to cap the day's offense.
Turley broke the Oregon State career record with his 180th RBI by driving in the Beavers' final run of the game on a single in the ninth.
Ethan Kleinschmit worked his longest start of the season, allowing five hits and two runs with six strikeouts. He exited to a standing ovation with a runner on first and two down in the eighth. Kleinschmit earned the win and is 8-3 on the year.
The Beavers chased Saint Mary's (36-26) starter Lukas Sarantos after just 2 1/3 innings. The righty dropped to 3-1 on the year after allowing two hits and three runs – one earned – with two walks and a strikeout.
