Oregon State Caps Regular Season With 13-0 Shutout

CORVALLIS, Ore. – Wilson Weber and Easton Talt homered and Ethan Kleinschmit struck out seven in six scoreless innings as No. 7 Oregon State closed out its regular season with a 13-0 win over Long Beach State in front of 4,113 Saturday at Goss Stadium at Coleman Field.

The game went just seven innings due to the 10-run rule.

Weber hit his 10th home run of the season in the third and Talt went deep for the sixth time this year in the sixth as Oregon State (41-12-1) tallied 15 hits in the win. Weber doubled once, while Aiva Arquette doubled twice along with one from Tyce Peterson as OSU picked up five extra-base hits on the day.

Kleinschmit, meanwhile, allowed a hit on the second at bat of the game but strolled from then on. He closed his day with a six-inning quality start, scattering two walks while striking out seven. He earned the win to improve to 7-3 on the year.

Arquette and Weber both had two hits for OSU, with Talt and Peterson posting two apiece.

Weber drove in two on a double in the first, and Talt made it 3-0 on a single in the second. The Beavers led 4-0 after two and then poured it on with seven in the third.

Weber homered on the first pitch he saw in the third, then watched as Carson McEntire and Trent Caraway made it 7-0 on a bases-loaded walk and then single, respectively. Arquette reached on an infield single to make it 8-0, then Gavin Turley hit a sacrifice fly for the 177th RBI of his career.

Weber drove in his second run of the inning on a single and AJ Singer capped the scoring when he drove in the Beavers' 11th run of the game on a single.

Owen Geiss started for Long Beach State (22-31), allowing six hits and six runs in two innings. He dropped to 6-8 on the year.

• The crowd of 4,113 was a season-high and the seventh-largest at Goss Stadium.
• That crowd tally pushed the Beavers to 70,665 over 19 home dates in the regular season. That's an average of 3,719 per home date.
• Oregon State ended the regular season with a 17-2 record.
• Aiva Arquette drove in his 60th run of the season.
• Arquette also tallied five total bases to put him at 138 on the year. That moved him into 10th for a single-season at OSU, surpassing Gavin Turley's 136 in 2024.
• Canon Reeder pushed his hit streak to seven games, equaling a season-long. He went 1-for-4 Saturday and is 11-for-26 with six runs, 12 RBI, five walks, two doubles and three home runs during the streak.
• OSU struck out a season-low one time.
• The Beavers finished with 34 hits over the three-game series, with five doubles and seven home runs. LBSU, meanwhile, tallied 13 hits with just one extra-base hit, a solo home run on Friday.
