Big-Time Matchup For Women’s Basketball on Thursday at 6pm

CORVALLIS, Ore. – Oregon State women's basketball carries a four-game winning streak into Thursday's showdown with Gonzaga at 6 p.m. in Gill Coliseum.
The Beavers and Zags will be squaring off for the second time this season with the first being a 71-67 overtime victory for the Beavs in Spokane. Kelsey Rees scored 21 points with nine rebounds en route to WCC Player of the Week honors while Ally Schimel hit the go-ahead three in overtime to earn Freshman of the Week.
The Zags have not lost since that game, winning 12 consecutive games including two victories over Portland and Washington State. Gonzaga ranks at the top of the conference, the only remaining Beaver game vs. the other top-four teams.
The game is OSU's Dam Cancer game featuring a silent auction as well as postgame hair donations on the court.

Ally Schimel joined Oregon State as a walk-on after dominating 3A Oregon high schools for four years at Corbett on the way to two state runner-ups and a title as a senior. The freshman quickly proved herself as a Beav, leading the team in seaosn plus-minus, and earned a scholarship at the team's holiday party. Most recently, Schimel recorded a career-high 13 points at LMU and four assists at San Diego in a road sweep.
