
Jeff Eaton Named Director of Football Strength and Conditioning

CORVALLIS, Ore. – Jeff Eaton will join the Oregon State football program as the Director of Football Strength and Conditioning, Head Coach JaMarcus Shephard announced Thursday.
"I'm excited to welcome Jeff Eaton as our head strength and conditioning coach," Shephard said. "Jeff brings a tremendous work ethic and deep commitment to developing our players, not just physically but mentally and emotionally as well. His experience building strong resilient athletes all lies perfectly with the culture we are creating here at Oregon State, and I'm confident he'll make it a big impact on our team."
Eaton has previously worked at Virginia Tech University, the University of Miami, the University of Oregon, Purdue University and UNLV.
"I'm grateful for the opportunity to serve as the Director of Football Strength and Conditioning at Oregon State University," Eaton said. "It's a true honor to work with Coach Shephard. His commitment to excellence and the development of young men is unmatched, and I'm committed to building a standard of development that pushes our student-athletes to their highest potential.
"Our student-athletes will get a program based on high standards, accountability, and relentless development that represents the toughness and unity of Beaver Nation."
The appointment is contingent on the completion of all university hiring processes.
Eaton worked this past year at Virginia Tech as the associate director of strength and conditioning after spending the previous three seasons (2022-24) as assistant strength and conditioning coordinator/internship coordinator for football at Miami.
He worked three years at Oregon (2019-21) in the strength & conditioning program and helped guide the football team to three straight appearances in the Pac-12 Championship Game, two conference titles and a win in the 2020 Rose Bowl.
Easton spent three years at Purdue (2017-19), helping the Boilermakers to back-to-back bowl games, including a win in the 2017 Foster Farms Bowl, and two seasons at UNLV (2015-16) as the assistant director of football strength & conditioning.
He also worked in the strength & conditioning programs at Morgan State (2014), Baylor (2011), San Diego State (2009-2010), and Penn State (2005-2006).
Eaton played defensive line for Lock Haven University and earned his bachelor's degree in 2009.
He holds a certification through the CSCCa (Collegiate Strength & Conditioning Association) and is a certified Level I Performance Coach through USA Weightlifting. His other certifications include FRCms (Functional Range Conditioning Movement Specialist), Altis Level 1 Speed Coach, and QPR (Suicide Prevention).
Eaton and his wife, Beth, have a daughter, Eva, and a son, Titus.
