
Oregon State Track and Field Travels to Nevada

Corvallis, Ore. – The Oregon State Track and Field team is back on the road for the Nevada Invitational in Reno this weekend.

The competition starts on Friday with long jump, weight throw and high jump at 10:00 a.m. Beatrice Pettersson and Jayla Hooper will start the Beavs off with the shot put at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday.

The Beavers had an impressive showing at the UW Preview last weekend, piling up seven Top 10 program records and 15 Top 10 finishes. In the 60 meters, Jada Hurley placed 10th in 7.74 seconds, while Delaney Bahn set a personal best of 7.84, earning her the #8 spot in OSU history. Addison Swartzendruber took seventh in the 400m with a time of 57.84. Jayla Hooper dominated the weight throw, breaking her school record with a throw of 19.86m/65-2 for first place. Bea Pettersson also made her mark, throwing 16.04m/52-7.5 in weight throw and 13.88m/45-6.5 in shot put, placing her sixth and eighth in OSU history, respectively.
OSU athletes delivered strong performances across multiple events. Dede Norman cleared 1.70m/5-7 in the high jump to take fourth, and Claire Lee vaulted 3.71m/12-2 in the pole vault for fifth, moving to #2 in OSU history. The distance runners shined, with Ruby Lorenz, Molly Latincsics, and Sydney Partyka setting personal bests in the 600m, 3000m, and mile, respectively. The 4x400 relay team of Megan Hatcher, Addison Swartzendruber, Jada Hurley, and Dede Norman concluded the meet with a fourth-place finish in 3:55.78.
NEXT TIME OUT
The Beavers will make their way north as they travel to Seattle to compete in the UW Invitational January 31 - February 1.
