Collin Hodgkinson Leads Men’s Golf In First Day On The Palouse

PULLMAN, Wash. – Collin Hodgkinson shot an 11-under 131 in the first two rounds of the Palouse Collegiate on Tuesday to pace the Oregon State men's golf team in its first day of the 2024-25 season. Hodgkinson's 11-under places him in second place in the tournament, just two shots out of the lead.

Hodgkinson's day led the Beavers to a tie for No. 7 after 36 holes at the 15-team event, held at the par-71, 7,302-yard Palouse Ridge Golf Club. The Beavers, as a team, shot a 15-under 553, and are just one shot out of a tie for third place.

Hodgkinson opened the day with a 5-under 66, a first-round that saw him tally eight birdies. He followed that with a 6-under 65 in round two, one in which he posted five birdies and an eagle on the par-5 fifth hole.

Bradley Smolinski made his collegiate debut on Tuesday and the freshman completed his day with a 6-under 65 in the second round. He posted six birdies in the round, and nine on the day after opening with three in a 1-over 72 first 18.

Smolinski enters the final 18 holes tied for 11th.

Zachary Miller, a sophomore, is tied for 28th with a 3-under 139 after 36 holes. He finished the first 18 with six birdies in a round that saw him finish with a 4-under 67. He followed that with three more birdies in the second round.

Rylan Johnson and Brandon Eyre completed OSU's team of five. Johnson is tied for 72nd via a 4-over 146, posting a 2-over 73 in each round. He was followed by Eyre, who posted a 6-over 148 and enters the final day 76th.

Stanley Lin is competing as an individual and heads into the final round tied for 61st. He shot a 1-under 70 in round one before a 3-over 74 in the second 18.
