Rhoden Promoted to Associate Head Coach
August 01, 2024 | Wrestling
CORVALLIS, Ore. – Head coach Chris Pendleton has elevated Josh Rhoden to associate head coach ahead of the 2024-25 season, announced on Thursday.
"I want to thank Coach Pendleton, our athletes and staff as well as the Oregon State community for the opportunity to serve them," said Rhoden. "We have accomplished some remarkable things over the last three years here. I am grateful to be able to use the sport of wrestling to impact young people's lives and I look forward to Building the Dam here in Corvallis for years to come!"
Rhoden, entering his third year with the program, has helped the Beaver wrestling team accomplish great things, both on and off the mat. In the 2022-23 season, the Beavers claimed the Pac-12 team championship in addition to five individual winners and sent seven to the NCAA Championships. Last season, five made the NCAA Championships with Trey Munoz (184) finishing third overall. Off the mat, the Beavers had a Division I-best nine named NWCA Scholar All-Americans and 14 make the Pac-12's Academic Honor Roll.
Prior to joining the staff in Corvallis, Rhoden led Clackamas Community College's wrestling program and left it prolific. A NJCAA Wrestling Hall of Famer, Rhoden led the Cougars to five national championships, numerous West regional titles and 101 All-Americans. There was never a time when a Rhoden-led Cougar team finished outside the top-seven in the NJCAA Championships.
Rhoden and the Beavers will start the 2024-25 season later this fall.
