CORVALLIS, Ore. – Oregon State wrestling's head coach, Chris Pendleton, has been inducted into the California Wrestling Hall of Fame. The Lemoore, Calif., product was enshrined into the organization this past Saturday.
Having completed his fourth season leading the Beavers, he's guided five to All-American honors, a team Pac-12 championship in 2022-23 and seven individual Pac-12 titles. Pendleton became the second coach in program history to be named the Pac-12's Coach of the Year within his first two seasons in Corvallis after getting the honor following the 2021-22 campaign.
In the 2023-24 season, Pendleton guided a fellow Californian – Trey Munoz – to his third consecutive Pac-12 crown at 184 lbs. and second-straight All-American honor as he finished the NCAAs at third place.
Prior to his arrival in Corvallis, he worked his way up the coaching ranks at Wyoming and Arizona State, where he helped numerous All-Americans and guided the Sun Devils to a top-six finish nationally.
As a student-athlete, Pendleton was a two-time national champion, a three-time All-American and twice won the Big 12 crown at 174 pounds while at Oklahoma State. He played a vital role in the Cowboys' three consecutive team national titles while in Stillwater.
