Turley Leads Beavers With Two Home Runs; OSU Edged By Cardinal

Turley hit his second – a two-run blast – to tie the game at 10 in the eighth inning. But Stanford's Charlie Saum hit the go-ahead home run to open the ninth for the win.

Turley finished the day 2-for-4 with two runs, six runs batted in and a walk. He led an Oregon State offense that totaled 12 hits, with four home runs. Wilson Weber hit a solo home run in the sixth to pull OSU (29-5 overall, 10-4 Pac-12 Conference) within one, 6-5.

Easton Talt hit a pinch-hit home run to start the Beavers' rally in the eighth. The long ball was the first of his career.

Elijah Hainline and Jacob Krieg each had two hits for OSU.

Stanford's (14-19, 7-8) Trevor Haskins hit a solo home run in the third, one that saw the Cardinal go up 3-0. Turley's grand slam put OSU in the lead, but Stanford scored three more in the fifth.

OSU went up 7-6 in the seventh when Dallas Macias drove in a run on a single, but then saw Stanford score four in the eighth to go up 10-7.

Laif Palmer took the loss for OSU, dropping to 1-1. He allowed Saum's home run in the ninth and worked 2/3 of an inning.

Ben Reimers picked up the win for Stanford after allowing one hit and one run in one inning.

• OSU hit at least four home runs for the fifth time this season. The Beavers have hit multiple home runs in 18 games.
• The Beavers' 68 home runs this season rank second for a single-season in the OSU record books. The 2024 club trails only the 2023 club, which hit 89.
