
Beavers Fall to Buffs

CORVALLIS –  The Oregon State men's basketball team wrapped up its home slate with a 73-57 loss to Colorado Saturday afternoon at Gill Coliseum.

Dexter Akanno led the Beavers with 15 points on 6-for-10 shooting from the floor. Tyler Bilodeau finished with 14 points and seven rebounds, while Jordan Pope had 10 points and seven boards.

Michael Rataj had 12 points.

As a team, the Beavers shot 37.5 percent from the floor and 36.4 percent from beyond the arc. Eddie Lampkin led Colorado with 17 points on 8-for-10 shooting.

Oregon State scored first, but Colorado answered with seven-straight points to flip the advantage. The Buffaloes took a 25-12 lead into the under-8 media break.

Colorado led 41-27 at the intermission.

The Buffaloes scored 11-straight points early in the second half extend the advantage to 22. The Beavers surged with a 7-0 run to get back within 15. Oregon State continued to battle, but Colorado took the win by 16.

Oregon State honored Dexter Akanno, Chol Marial, Felipe Palazzo and manager Hayato Kanai in its pregame Senior Day ceremony.

The Beavers will play in the first round of the Pac-12 Tournament Wednesday at 2:30 p.m. at T-Mobile Arena in Las Vegas, Nev.
