
Beavers Take Down Utes at Gill

CORVALLIS –  The Oregon State men's basketball team defeated Utah 92-85Thursday evening in their penultimate regular season game of the season.

Jordan Pope had another big game for the Beavers, going for 25 points on 7-for-13 shooting from the floor and 10-for-11 shooting from the stripe. Tyler Bilodeau filled up the stat sheet with 20 points, six rebounds and a block.

Dexter Akanno came through with 18 points and two steals, while KC Ibekwe had nine points on 4-for-4 shooting. Josiah Lake II went 7-for-7 from the line to finishe with nine points.

As a team, the Beavers shot 51 percent from the floor and 40.9 percent from beyond the arc. Oregon State posted a 30-26 advantage on the glass.

Tyler Bilodeau scored the first five Beaver points, but Utah jumped out to an 8-5 advantage at the game's first media timeout. Oregon State used a 15-0 run to take a 22-13 lead.

The Beavers extended the advantage to as many as 16, on their way to a 46-33 halftime advantage. Pope and Bilodeau were both in double-figures at the intermission.

Utah used an 8-0 run to get back within six at 56-50 with 13:33 to go in the contest. Oregon State brought the lead back to double-figures. The Beavers hung on from there, taking the win by seven.

Oregon State will host Senior Day Saturday, as Colorado visits Gill Coliseum for the final home game of the regular season.
