
Beavers Drop Rivalry Contest

EUGENE, Ore. – The Oregon State men's basketball team fell to Oregon 78-71 Wednesday evening in Eugene.

The teams went back-and-forth for the bulk of the contest, with the Beavers leading for over 14 minutes of game time.

Tyler Bilodeau lead Oregon State with 26 points on 10-for-14 shooting to go with eight rebounds. Jordan Pope finished with 22 points and five assists, while Dexter Akanno had 10 points and four assists.

Michael Rataj had six points and two steals. Josiah Lake II tallied five points and Chol Marial pulled down five rebounds.

The teams traded punches early on, as the score we level at 13 six minutes into the contest. Oregon State used a 9-0 run to open a 24-18 lead mid-way through the opening period. The Ducks answered with seven-straight points to go in front 30-26.

Oregon led 35-33 at the intermission. Pope had 15 at the half on 7-for-8 shooting from the floor.

Oregon State retook the lead 44-41 early in the second half. The Ducks scored six unanswered to go up by four at 59-55, and went up seven with 5:15 to go. Oregon held on from there, taking the win by seven.

Kwame Evans Jr. led Oregon with 22 points.
