
Beavers Take Down Cardinal on the Road

STANFORD, Calif. – The Oregon State men's basketball team took down Stanford 85-73 Saturday afternoon in Stanford, Calif.

Jordan Pope exploded for 30 points on 10-for-17 shooting from the floor. Michael Rataj had 22 points and 10 rebounds, including a number of big shots down the stretch.

Tyler Bilodeau 18 points and four boards. Dexter Akanno rounded out a quartet of Beavers in double-figures with 11 points and seven rebounds.

As a team, the Beavers shot 53 percent from the floor and 40 percent from beyond the arc. Oregon State dominated the glass, out-rebounding Stanford 39-22.

Oregon State scored first, but Stanford responded by scoring nine unanswered points to take an early lead. The Beavers came back with an 13-0 run to retake the advantage. The Cardinal responded to get back within a point, but OSU took a 38-32 lead into the half.

Pope had 17 points in the first half.

The Beavers came out strong in the second half, as they extended the lead to 11 less than two minutes into the period. The Cardinal once again answered with 14-straight points to go back in front, but Oregon State hit six-straight shots to take a six-point lead with seven minutes to go.

OSU extended to advantage to 11 with four minutes left and maintained control from there to take the win by 12.

Maxime Raynaud led the Cardinal with 29 points and eight rebounds.

The Beavers head to Eugene on Wednesday for a matchup with Oregon.
