AJ Cooper Selected As 35 Under 35 Participant

CORVALLIS, Ore. – Oregon State inside linebackers coach AJ Cooper has been selected for the American Football Coaches Association's (AFCA) 35 Under 35 Coaches Leadership Institute. This year's class was chosen among more than 200 highly qualified applicants.
The AFCA 35 Under 35 Coaches Leadership Institute is a prestigious program aimed at identifying and developing premier, future leaders in the football coaching profession. Selected participants are invited to attend the one-day institute that features a curriculum of interactive lectures focused on topics specifically tailored to emphasize leadership in the coaching profession, ethics, influential responsibilities, career progression, and family balance.
Applicants for this year's class had to be born after Jan. 1, 1989 and currently serve as a high school head coach, two-year college full-time assistant or head coach or assistant or head coach at NCAA or NAIA levels. Applicants had to submit a resume, five references, a 1,600-word article or 10-minute love instructional video on offense, defense or special teams, or position-specific topic.
Cooper recently completed his first season as the Beavers' inside linebackers coach after one year as the linebackers coach at Sacramento State. He was a graduate assistant on the defensive side of the ball for Oregon State in 2021 and 2022.
