
Beavers Drop Contest vs. Oregon

CORVALLIS, Ore. – The Oregon State men's basketball team fell to Oregon 78-75 Thursday evening at Gill Coliseum.

The Beavers led for the majority of the contest, going in front by as many as 12 in the second half and leading with under seven minutes to play.

Michael Rataj posted a double-double with 20 points and 10 rebounds on 7-for-16 shooting from the floor. Liutauras Lelevicius had 13 points on 4-for-6 shooting.

Parsa Fallah had 11 points and four assists. Damarco Minor had nine points, seven rebounds and three assists, while Josiah Lake II had nine points on 3-for-5 shooting.

Oregon State used an early 8-0 run to open up a 12-5 lead four minutes into the contest. The two sides traded punches from there, as the Beavers headed to the under-8 media break leading 27-21.

Nine unanswered Beaver points put Oregon State in front 40-29. OSU headed to the intermission up 47-37.

Oregon scored six-straight points to cut the OSU lead to six mid-way through the second half. The Ducks got back within two with 7:30 remaining and went on to take the lead at 69-66.

The Beavers were within one with less than a minute to play, but could not retake the lead as the Ducks claimed the three-point victory.

The Beavers will hit the road for the first time this season on Monday, when Oregon State faces North Texas in Denton.
