Stiles Named Pac-12's Wrestler of the Week

CORVALLIS, Ore. – Following a third consecutive win – and his second against a ranked foe – to open the season, Ethan Stiles was named the Pac-12's Wrestler of the Week as announced by the conference on Tuesday morning.
During this past Sunday's dual against fourth-ranked Oklahoma State, Stiles defeated then-no. 8 Teague Travis of the Cowboys in sudden victory. The Chicago, Ill., product fought off a late comeback by his opponent before prevailing in the extra frame by a 7-4 margin for the win.
Stiles – a redshirt freshman who transferred to Oregon State ahead of the school year – has quickly made a name for himself this season on the national stage, rocketing up in both major polls (FloWrestling and Intermat) to 19th and 25th, respectively.
The honor from the league is the first for Stiles.
Oregon State – and Stiles – will be back on the mats this Saturday when they will compete in the Navy Classic. Action from Maryland's capital city is set for 6 a.m. PT.
